Four steps before you go

  1. 1

    Register

Yatris to the Char Dham and Hemkund Sahib must register with the Uttarakhand government before travelling. Registration is free on the official portal.

    Uttarakhand registration portal →
  2. 2

    Book helicopters only officially

Kedarnath helicopter tickets are sold only on IRCTC HeliYatra. Fake booking sites and WhatsApp agents are common: never pay anyone else.

  3. 3

    Check the doors

Temple doors open and close on dates set each year by the panchang. Check our calendar and the temple committee before you book.

    Badri-Kedar Temple Committee →
  4. 4

    Respect the mountain

Above 3,000 m, go slowly, drink water and turn back if you feel unwell. Carry warm layers even in June.

The reports describe no restriction on the Gaurikund-Kedarnath walking path itself; check the current rule with BKTC before travelling.
