About this trek
Vindhyachal Trikon Parikrama
The Vindhyachal Trikon Parikrama links three goddess shrines in the Vindhya hills near Mirzapur: Vindhyavasini Temple, the cave temple of Kali Khoh and Ashtabhuja Temple on the hilltop. Pilgrims usually visit all three in a day. It is a short pilgrim circuit over roads and stairways rather than a wilderness trek, and suits families and devotees of any fitness.

- Kali Khoh is an ancient cave shrine of Maa Kali in a hill-and-tree setting, the second stop of the yatra

- Distances between the three shrines differ between sources (see conflicts); confirm the route with local drivers or pandits before setting out.

Questions
What is the Vindhyachal Trikon Parikrama?
The Mirzapur district administration describes it as the circuit of three shrines of Vindhyachal: Maa Vindhyavasini, Kali Khoh and Ashtabhuja. Devotees usually visit all three in a day.
In what order are the three temples visited?
The district page lists Kali Khoh as the second stop and Ashtabhuja as the third and final stop, after the Vindhyavasini temple. Devotees usually go to Kali Khoh straight after Vindhyavasini and then on to Ashtabhuja.
How far apart are the temples?
Sources differ. The district page puts Kali Khoh about 2 km from the Vindhyavasini temple and Ashtabhuja only about 1-2 km from Kali Khoh, while Wikipedia says 6 km and 8 km from the Vindhyavasini temple. Many pilgrims cover the circuit by auto or taxi.
Can I drive up to the Ashtabhuja temple?
Yes. The district page says the temple is on a hilltop with a well-paved road to the top, and a stairway is also available for those who prefer to walk.
When is the best time to visit?
Navratri in Chaitra (April) and Ashwin (October) is the major festival time and the busiest. Outside it, the cooler months are more comfortable; Wikivoyage also mentions the monsoon (July-August) as a pleasant season for the surrounding hills and falls.
