About us
Treks and Trails is a free guide to treks across India: routes, best months, altitude, permits, cost and how to get there. We don't sell treks, take bookings or run trips. The site is paid for by advertising and affiliate links.
How we check facts
- Two sources for every key fact. Maximum altitude, distance, number of days, best months, closed months, trailhead and permits must each be confirmed by at least two independent publishers that agree. A trek that fails this check is not published.
- Permit fees only from official sources. We print a fee only when a forest department, tourism department or other government page states it. Where we can't confirm the current rules, the trek page says so and asks you to check locally.
- Dated reviews. Every trek page shows when it was last reviewed and lists the sources it was checked against.
Photos
Our photos come from Wikimedia Commons and other free-licence libraries. Each trek page credits the photographer and the licence.
Found a mistake?
Trails, rules and fees change. If something on a page is wrong or out of date, email hello@treksandtrails.in with the page link and, if you can, a source. We'll check it and update the page.
