Cost
Self-guided
₹0–1,000
With an operator
₹1,500–3,000
Per person for the day, ex-Khati. No operator sells Bajling Top as a fixed-departure trek, so both ranges are our estimates, not published prices: self-guided covers packed food and water from a Khati homestay; guided assumes hiring a local guide in Khati for the day, as Indiahikes and trip reports did. Getting to Khati is part of a Pindari trip and is not included.

Know before you go
Good to know
- Mobile network
- Indiahikes could make a few calls from the top, but the signal was weak. Check current coverage at Khati.
- Last ATM
- Bageshwar; carry cash for Khati and the Pindari trail.
- Nearest hospital
- Health sub-centre at Khati for first aid; Bageshwar for a hospital.
- Water
- Indiahikes reports no drinking water on the climb from Khati, so carry all your water. A 2011 trip report found a spring about 1 km below the Bajling meadow, which was frozen in February.
Highlights
- Wide grassy meadows of Bajling Dhar on the ridge above Khati, with an old temple near the top
- A 360° view over the Pindari valley, with Nanda Kot, Nandabhanar and Laspadhura ahead and Maiktoli towards Sunderdhunga
- Dense oak and rhododendron forest on the climb, used by shepherds and Khati villagers
- Ridge walks onward to Pankhwa (Pangu) Top, or down to Supi village, for those with an extra day
Risks
- There is no drinking water on the climb; carry enough for the whole day.
- Afternoon thunderstorms are common, so start early and turn back if cloud builds on the ridge.
- Indiahikes warns against unmarked 'short-cut' descents through the forest, which turned slippery and dangerous; come down by the trail you went up.
- In winter the ridge can carry deep snow (a February 2011 party met knee-deep snow near Bajling), which slows progress a lot.

Questions
Where does the Bajiling (Bajling) Top trek start?
From Khati village on the Pindari Glacier trail in Bageshwar district. Indiahikes describes two routes: a longer one via Kharkiya and the Khati school up the forest ridge, and a shorter, steeper one that leaves the Khati-Dwali trail above the KMVN lodge. A path also climbs to Bajling Dhar from Supi village, which has a road.
Can Bajling Top be done in a day?
Yes. Indiahikes and Trekup India both describe it as a one-day trek from Khati. It is best done as an extra day on the Pindari or Sunderdhunga treks; Indiahikes says it is not worth travelling to Khati only for this day hike.
What is the best time for Bajling Top?
Trekup India lists April-May and September-October. Local guides also suggest winter for snow on the meadows, but the ridge then needs snow experience and a guide.
Which peaks can you see from Bajling Top?
On a clear day, Nanda Kot, Nandabhanar and Laspadhura beyond Pankhwa Top, Maiktoli towards the Sunderdhunga valley, and the Pindari valley below with Khati and Supi villages.
